Opt-in Services - what is it?

People subscribe to opt-in SMS and MMS services in order to receive specific information, news or content at regular intervals or when a predefined condition occurs. Opt-in services can be either Premium (billed at a higher rate than normal SMS/MMS messages), subscription-based (one-time payment) or invoiced every time the recipient gets a message.

The normal scenario is that subscribers receive daily or weekly news or information or that they receive a notification once a particular event occurs, i.e. when a share price falls below a certain level. Information can be sent out manually or automatically, triggered by an application or server.

  • Horoscope, weather, events, other info sent daily, weekly, monthly
