Which countries can I send messages to?
Anywhere in the world. If you cannot reach a certain destination, please ensure that:
- The mobile phone you are trying to reach is on
- The inbox of the mobile is not full
- The mobile is in an area that has network coverage
- The mobile number is valid
If Contacts does not deliver your SMS after the above checks, please send us a message via our webform specifying your Contacts login and mobile number you are trying to reach.
How can I receive SMS?
Clients of Luxembourg mobile operators may send an SMS to your Contacts account. All they have to do is write an SMS starting with your login, followed by a space and then their text, to number 64111.
Example: I entered MPULSE as login when I created my Contacts account, “To subscribe to our SMS newsletter, send MPULSE via SMS to 64111”
You choose this login when you first create your Contacts account. So be cautious: choose a short word, without accents, that is not difficult to spell.
To receive SMS from other countries, you will need to apply for a Longnumber. With a Longnumber, people simply send an SMS to your number, without having to start their text with your login.
Can I import/export my existing contact database?
To export your database:
- Go to Contacts > People > Export
- And choose your Export file (Excel or CSV)
To import your database
- Export a database (see above) to see how the information must be placed: each column corresponds to particular type of information (name, number, etc.)"
- To import your database, you must create an Excel sheet with the exact same layout (numbers in the number column, names in the name column, etc.).
- The following fields are compulsory:
- name,
- first name,
- number,
- company- The mobile number
- must be in the following format: 352621000000
- thus it must include international dialing code (352 for Luxembourg, 33 for France, 32 for Belgium, 49 for Germany)
- no + or 00 before,
- no space before or after,
- no points, or special characters (/ or . for example)- To send SMS to a group of contacts easily, enter a description in the “Group column”: a same word or number for all the contacts in that group, inserted in one of the last column (named “Group”)
Caution: when you import a database it deletes your old database!
