What is SMS MO, SMS MT, Short Code, Shared Short Code and Dedicated Short Code?
  • SMS MO: mobile originated, i.e. sent by a mobile phone to you

    mobile-user2

  • SMS MT: mobile terminated, i.e. sent by you or your application to a mobile phone

    mobile-user1

  • Short code: Numbers used to address SMS and MMS from mobile phones. They are significantly shorter than full mobile numbers, and therefore are easier to read and remember than normal mobile numbers. In many countries, each Premium Short Code has a particular price-range (the price paid by the consumer), that cannot be modified.

  • Dedicated Short Code: Enjoy exclusive usage of a Short Code and the possibility to run a large number of applications on it. They allow you to avoid involving your brand-name with others.

  • Shared Short Codes: End-users type a distinctive keyword in their SMS to access your service - and you benefit from lower setup and monthly fees.
